John Westnet son of John Westnitt and Sarah Peck was baptized on 26 Feb 1709/10. His mother, Sarah Peck passed away when John was 6 years of age in on 20 Jan 1715/16. At the age of 21, he married Mary Rowning, age 20, in Great Gransden, Hunts. According to the 'overseers of the Poor" accounts, John Westnet paid 2s 6d tax in 1737. In 1738 he received 8d.  His child went to "ye hospital to Cutt". It is not clear at this juncture whether Cutt is a term for a hospital or whether this was a "description" of a procedure done to one of John's children. It was 3 years after this notation that his second child William died at age 9 and was buried on 5 Mar 1741/2

There are also notations that John received 1s for each of the years 1744 and 1745 but there is no indication as to why. Perhaps he was not able to work during those years for he died early in 1746 at the age of 35. He was buried on 26 Jan 1745/6, one month before his 36th birthday. Mary, at the age of 58 was buried with her husband at Kingston on 23 Sept 1768.
